Gone way too soon.

I know it seems like the only ghost here is me, since I update about once a geological age... but I couldn't just GO and not say anything about Michael. I work in a newsroom with people who hate him... and I mean HATE with capitals... and while I see where they come from, since the whole controversy with the kids was never clarified, it feels so horrible to hear them. To hear what they say and how very mean they are when they say it...... I know there's non fans out there, but I was taught never to speak ill of the dead... and I know they're wrong for doing so.
.
I also know that whatever the truth about his personal life was, MJ was.. and always will be, creator of an important part of the soundtrack of my life.
.
I grew up with his music, I liked him so much. I loved his videos and I admired his work... in every way. His humanitarian efforts were inspiring... I don't CARE what people say... and the lyrics in songs like "Heal The World", "Man in the MIrror", "Black or White" .. you name them.... were pure calls to what this end of times we're living is all about: a change... awakening of the human spirit... a change in conscience, in ideas... the search for peace, love, unity and understanding among mankind.
...
Tolerance
...
I see that. And so when Paris spoke yesterday about her father... it broke my heart, as it did millions...
...
So I really, really don't give a crap about what people like my co-workers say or believe...
...
He's gone too soon.
.
And I feel sad about it...
.
And that's all I'm going to say.

Well... that was impressive.
...
That indeed was one of the best speeches I have ever heard. It was inspiring, simple, powerful, true and I'm sure those words will be echoing everywhere for a very long time.
:)
Now all we need to do is wait and see... and, for God's sake, do what the man said... get out there and go to work!

So... I shall go work now.

Hey all,
First of all... and foremost...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

God, I hope this year treats us better than last, economy and all...
.
I have learned the hard way that there's some things you just take for granted in life, like health, and dreams, and airplane routes... and ceilings...
.
Don't do that anymore, guys. I know what I'm saying...
.
It's time to be careful about things you wouldn't think twice about before. After all, it's a new Century, people, we must change with the times. So, please, if you can, take some time to have a complete health checkup with your doctor and bring your whole family and friends. To prevent is magical... trust me.

  •
  • Try to remember your dreams... write them down as soon as you wake up in the morning. As I said, trust me.. it's worth it.
  •
  • Check out airplane routes above your city and, you know... be careful. Just a thought. A few weeks ago a plane crashed over here... and it was waaay too close.
  •
  • Check your ceilings. Water filtrations make them fall at 4 in the morning.
  •
  • Oh, and wear sunscreen. Always! There's a whole video on youtube about that.

Now... after that, I leave you with a thing I found at one of[info]shirasade's posts and I found it hilarious. Especially the witches bit. Thank you Shirasade.

Here be Weird resolutions:

In 2009, killash resolves to...
Go writing three times a week.
Cut down on my recycling.
Spend less time on lotr.
Go to csi every Sunday.
Give up stumpus maximus.
Volunteer to spend time with witches.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

Witches!!! LOL!
I volunteer... absolutely... but Give up Stumpus Maximus?? ..... NEVER!
:P

Take care, and again...
.

Happy New Year!!

So, PEOPLE Magazine says Hugh Jackman is the new  "Sexiest Man Alive"

Which, of course, I have no problem with.

<--- I mean...

....Who would?

Right?
*

Yet I have:

Just a quick comment.
*
Ehem...
*
Imagine one Sunday morning... late... after you gave a dinner party for quite a few people... and it was so good it'll definitely  remain in the history books as the most delicious night of the year.
*
You're sleepy, you know that last cup of wine was too much, you had to literally drag you ass out of bed after hours of dread, because you remember, like a bad dream, what your kitchen looked like at 3 a.m.

And it could have only gotten worse.

There's work to be done. Kitchens don't clean themselves. UGH!
*
You brace yourself for the upcoming task and slowly progress to the damaged area... you drag your feet as much as you can... you finally push the door open..

The kitchen... YOUR kitchen.. is spotless. All dishes washed, floor cleaned, trash simply vanished... pancakes and bacon are made and coffee is ready. Your own mug is already out, on the table, waiting for you.
*
It smells delicious... the sun is shining... the air itself is like music...
+
And your man... your MAN ...stands there, with a curious boyish look, dressed only in pants, t-shirt and accomplishment. He's drying his hands with a towel... his smile illuminating that face you know so well. He winks at you.

Now, once again. Ehem...
*
Who's the sexiest man alive?

*
:P
*
Just a thought. ........
Carry on.
*
HAPPY SUNDAY everyone!

I've been watching a lot of "Psych" lately.

Don't know why, I do go into these phases sometimes when I just crave for a show. So I got seasons 1 and 2 on DVD and have had a real blast.

It's such a funny show!

But now that I've had a chance to revise the last 2 seasons plus the 5 or 6 episodes that have aired throughout the summer, I've realized something very important. There's nothing better for a television show than when everyone involved is having fun while doing it.

Actually, there's nothing better for any kind of production.

I've seen the DVD extras of both seasons in which Steve Franks (creator and writer) along with producers, actors and other writers talk about the show and the process and everything they usually do in a work week, and the constant is always the same: FUN.

Fun fun fun, all the time. Either the writers get together to produce the stupidest jokes, later to be discarded from the episode because they were... you know... stupid; or the actors ad-libbing most of their lines because that's how talented they are, or the way the director had to cut the scene at some point because the entire staff was laughing during filming.

And how everything they do is under a 200 dollar budget. LOL

And I see how happy they are, and that's how the show's success is explained, completely.

They have fun.

So, I've decided that next time I have to write something boring for work, or the next time we do a Christmas play at home, or the next time I'm invited to work for free, in hopes of some project being picked up and catapulting everyone into stardom.... I'll try and have as much fun as I possibly can.

It may just work.

Cheers

Don't understand why some folks cannot find Gotham City in Googlemaps! The Dark Knight

No Spoilers below....

Ok, so
yester-night, I surrendered.

I gave in under the combination of my friends excitement and my Batman-enamoured brother's dreamy eyed expectant face and went to see the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight".

I was careful, mind you, to refrain from building up my own expectations too much, after living through the heartbreak of recent discouraging experiences such as "The Fantastic Four", "Spiderman 3" and well... you know what I'm talking about, right?

And then there was the issue of Heath, playing the Joker, and the way he is now, you know, dead, a fact which breaks my heart even after all this time. I was kind of chickening out of seeing this movie due to that, I admit, and it took a lot of guts for me to actually go though with it.

Dude, I'm SO glad I surrendered, I'm double glad-ddder that I grabbed my .. guts... and didn't chicken out and I definitely know I couldn't have cared less about the height of my expectations, because this is one of the best Superhero movies I have ever seen.

Sorry I  vanished like that.

I've been kind of.. freaked out. A friend e-mailed me about a moth ago, told me she'd heard something bad had happened to me and wished she could help.

I said, no, I'm okay. Thanks.

And a couple of days later my mom has a heart attack.

Dude! How did she know?????

And she hasn't e-mailed again after that.

I'm so freaked out by this.

Sigh*

Oh, well. My mom is stable and improving so I just have one thing to say... and I say it loudly, to the wind, to the sky above and the stars beyond... and with all my heart.

Thank you.

Thank you, God, thank you.

Lost in limbo for weeks? Yeah really good.
Absolutely

But I did tell you so.

OK, so I read the book, I re-read it. I bought the audiobook and Listened to it... and now... after all that, I can say without a doubt that Harry Dresden is "THA MAN".

He SO is!!

People, I mean it. If you have not had a chance to read "The Dresden Files" series, you should definitely MAKE TIME and do it.

Jim Butcher has one of the freshest, most interesting writing talents I have ever encountered. He's not only one of the most creative people alive. He's also smart, he weaves the plotlines so nicely, you can see the finished product as a work of fine art.

But the thing I like most about "His Butcherness": He's subtle.

Really SUBTLE.

In every single book.

While you think you're in control, you're definitely NOT. Chapter to chapter you see things develop in such a way that by chapter 10 you're just sure there is just NOT going to be a way out of the mess this time. Wizard or not, Harry gets in SO much trouble, and carries so many responsibilities with him, all at once, that you just feel for the man, I'm serious.

But well... Lives hang in the balance so he has to keep the scale tipped to his side all the time. Bad guys are careful of him. Innocents trust him. Friends give up everything for him. And, of course, he does just the same for them.

And all of that happens while Harry somehow keeps getting beat up, kicked, burned, hurt, smashed, blown up, fired, pushed off places and generally hunted down.

And you think he'd just quit, stay down and keep himself safe. NOPE. No way. Harry Dresden stands up and keeps fighting, no matter what.

Everything is at stake.

And he does it with an attitude. Good Lord!

Now, one has to wonder if this guy's very spirit is actually human. But in a way, there's lots of people in the world who carry just as much weight on their shoulders, do just as many things to help those who need it, and of course, we almost never find out about them and their efforts to be useful to others.

Those people are the true heroes of our time.

So I guess this character could be about as real as you and me.

But I was telling you about Jim's Writing. Now, here's a writer who's kind of evil.  "His Butcherness" hand-feeds you the story in tiny little pieces. Sloowly... niicely. And I?m sure he enjoys it in a sick way. He gives you tiny bits of action and drama, laces it with wonderful smart remarks which ALWAYS make you laugh... feeds you... devilishly dosifies it for you, and keeps you just begging for more, you know?

In the end, every page feels like a reward, and you just want more and more... it's like a drug, only cooler.

Then the book ends and you groan and ache for more while your subconscious has no reservations and totally makes a pouting scene.

AAAH! I want book eleven!

But April 2009 is sooo faar away.

Sigh.

So, okay. This was not exactly a review, it's more of a rant.
I'll come up with the detailed review in a few days, as soon as I finish writing it.

Meanwhile...
You guys seen "House" yet?

Dude.
I have no words...

So, the book arrived...

THE book.

What book, you ask? ehem, well... this Book:

And that obviously means that you probably will NOT hear from me in a really long while.

What with all the reading, re-reading... going back to read my favourite scenes, re-reading the other books to get the feel again.... throwing popcorn and trying to catch it in mouth and all.

I've done most of that already. I can honestly say this book rocks. ROCKS! But I need to do a lot more perusing and popcorn throwing before writing a decent review.

Ergo

Therefore

Thus

...

You won't hear from me in a while.

But what else is new?

Back to Harry.

Well, if you're going to actually do some work, or write anything significant for a change, or try really hard to come up with a new exciting story that will keep millions glued to your original page-turner for hours and hours, or if you're just getting out of your 3 year long writer's block... you need to start slow.

Your conterpart is the brilliant but caustic Canadian astrophysicist, Rodney McKay. You may be egotistical or as Samantha Carter puts it: "arrogant, petty and bad with people" but deep down you really do care about others a great deal. You're a little bit solitary, but only because certain people just annoy you and you can't stand being around them (and I mean, who can blame you). WGA Boards Meet and Approve Deal: Showrunners Can Return to Work Monday

The boards for both branches of the Writers Guild of America on Sunday unanimously approved the tentative deal reached on a new contract. The boards are also taking the final decision on liftng the strike to membership in a vote on Tuesday.

In the meantime, showrunners will get going even sooner, heading back to work Monday to get crews set up and production facilities going again, as will writers who have producing duties on their shows. Ballots to ratify the three-year deal are also going out to members, and will be returned within a 10-12 day period.

Patric Verrone commented on the deal agreement, saying, "This is the best deal this guild has bargained for in 30 years."

Oh My God, Heath!

This is one of those times when I literally am left speechless. Wow!

How can someone you have NEVER met die and leave such a hole inside you?

I'm dumbfounded. Maybe it was the shock of just reading it like I did... you know.. as any other news story in Yahoo... you do a double take and say WTF? Wait, I didn't read that right. Did I?

Oh my God.

And you go back and reality dawns on you. Anyone can go... any time.. anywhere.

No, I never met him, even if it feels like I did, damnit. But I see him gone and even when I didn't know him... I  do know so many others, and shocks like these remind me of only one thing. There's nothing like living surrounded by your own.

Enjoy the time you have with your people. Enjoy the laughter, the walking side by side, the arguments and casual conversation.. enjoy sitting around, riding in the car, talking on the phone... joking, crying together, hugging, kissing, smiling, grinning, leaning your head on someone's shoulder, having someone fall asleep on your lap. Enjoy every second of every day with those you love. And never ever forget to let them know just how deep that love goes inside you.

Tell them how much you love them. There is no greater excuse than this .

We all can go. Any time, anywhere.

There's no bigger regret than never saying it, or not saying it often enough.

Tell them, you never know what the future holds.

And Heath, man. What can I say? Thank you for all you gave in life to all those people you never even met. You will be missed.

Rest in peace.
